Dan Guerin was born and raised in Mississauga Ontario, but recently spent a summer in Jasper to explore Canada’s natural beauty. He graduated from Sheridan College’s Media Fundamentals program with high honours. Dan is now studying Applied Photography at Sheridan.

Dan Guerin

Danny has always had an interest in photography; however he had never considered making a career out of it until the beginning of 2006 when he suffered a back injury while mountain biking (his other pastime). During this period he began using photography to fill his free time and soon discovered a new passion.

Since then Danny has taken various workshops and seminars to extend and enhance his natural photographic instincts. His interest in photography lies in being able to capture “those fleeting instances of beauty” so that he may share what he sees with others. Through photography he has found a new way to look at the world around him, one in which he can find tremendous joy in things most people pass by without a thought. To Dan photography is more than just a career, its a philosophy and a method of exploring concepts and meaning.

Dan has had his work displayed and sold at various restaurants and galleries including the Bushfire Gallery in Jasper, Gallery Streetsville, The Art Gallery of Peel, Laidlaw Hall at The Living Arts Centre, Royal Lepage offices, and a three month feature at The Enfield Fox in Missisauga. Dan has also participated in two juried festivals, The Port Credit Outdoor Art Festival, and the Month of Photography festival in Peel. Dan also exhibited for the 2007 Contact festival, which is the largest in North America.

Danny is looking forward to what the future will bring him, in both his creative endeavors, and his daily life. He hopes you will find as much joy in these images as he does.
